Robert G. Allen, author of the “Nothing Down..” methods of buying Real Estate has authored several useful books about creating alternative sources of income. One of my favorite of his books is called:
Highlights from the book include:
12 Principles of Persuasion
The author defines an intriguing concept called 12 principles of persuasion, and, of these, the top 3 principles to “supercharge” what you have to sell — either offline or online. If you include these principles in your marketing campaigns, it should lead to success in the marketplace.
Optimizing Your Website for Users Searching for Information You Offer
This book offers tips for optimizing your website for popular search engines and some helpful search engine reference sites to understand what search engines are looking for in a website. It also describes how Ken Evoy’s site (www.sitesell.com) makes is possible to do your search engine optimization and website construction all in one package — for a nominal price. The author also reviews six strategies for driving traffic to your website with practical examples of how to initiate and maintain these strategies.
How to Make Money Selling “Special Reports“
Allen also discusses the concept of creating “Special Reports” that could potentially be a great source of non-job revenue. He references a book by Dr. Jeffrey Lant called:
that discusses the process of five-page special books and special reports. Customers tend to buy more than one of these special reports because of their inexpensive price as well. Additionally, I believe these reports are successful because people are looking to solve a particular task (right now!) and are willing to spend a small amount of money to solve that problem immediately.
How Ezines can Help You Promote Your Products or Services
This book delves into what ezines are and how they can help publicize products or content you want to sell. The author also includes website listings of directories of ezines to help you match your product or service with the right ezine audience that will be receptive to buy what you have to offer.
Giving Away Freebies to Attract Customers
It’s an old method to attracting customers. Give them a free sample to 1) get them to trust what you have to say and 2) give you the time to say it to them. This book offers quite a few examples of free products that you can offer to incentivize folks to become your customers.
Ways to Create Streams of Income
Allen reviews 6 ways to create streams of income and explains each one in a separate chapter of the book. Although you have probably heard of these streams — such as affiliate marketing — he goes into detail about the advantages and disadvantages of each in a way you will not find on websites that tout their wares. He also makes several references to links that should be useful to you as you build up your income streams.
